About The Position

This role involves various tasks related to material handling in a shipping environment. Responsibilities include attaching identifying tags, reading work orders, recording unit movements, and physically moving materials. The position also requires sorting cargo, assembling product containers, and performing other assigned duties. The ideal candidate will be able to follow instructions, manage multiple tasks, adapt to change, work independently, collaborate with colleagues, and perform repetitive work. Maintaining composure in stressful situations and reporting to work on time are also key expectations.

Responsibilities

• Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information.
• Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
• Record numbers of units handled or moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets.
• Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, or containers, by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other equipment.
• Sort cargo before loading and unloading.
• Assemble product containers or crates.
• Other duties as assigned.
