About The Position

This role is responsible for various tasks related to the movement and handling of materials in a shipping environment. Key duties include attaching identifying tags, reading work orders, recording production data, moving materials using equipment, sorting cargo, and assembling product containers. The position requires the ability to follow instructions, multitask, adapt to change, work independently, collaborate with colleagues, and perform repetitive tasks. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, and the ability to maintain composure in stressful situations and report to work on time is essential.

Responsibilities

• Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information.
• Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
• Record numbers of units handled or moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets.
• Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, or containers, by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other equipment.
• Sort cargo before loading and unloading.
• Assemble product containers or crates.
• Other duties as assigned.
