About The Position

Reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager, ST Shipping I is responsible for verifying and maintaining records on incoming and outgoing shipments, preparing items for shipment, loading and unloading supplies trailers, pallet trailers, loading recycle trucks with empty containers, loading shipping containers, and other tasks seen fit on a stand-up powered industrial vehicle. Duties include assembling, addressing, stamping, loading and shipping merchandise or material; receiving, unpacking, verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material; arranging for the transportation of products while utilizing a handheld RF scanner focusing on inventory control and documentation.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required
  • Valid stand-up forklift experience is required
  • 6+ months of stand-up forklift experience required
  • Must have basic skills using computer software and RF Scanners
  • Ability to lift over 50 pounds
  • Frequently lift up to 40 lbs to work with equipment and product
  • Frequently performs repetitive reaching, grasping and lifting of product, materials and boxes weighing up to 40lbs
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Frequently required to understand and follow verbal communication
  • Frequently required to provide clear written communication
  • Wear personal safety equipment as required
  • Utilize cognitive abilities to effectively communicate with internal customers to understand requests
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception
  • Regularly use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
  • Frequently stand, walk, squat, stoop, or kneel, reach above the head, bend or twist the neck and trunk

Responsibilities

  • Verifying and maintaining records on incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Preparing items for shipment
  • Loading and unloading supplies trailers, pallet trailers, loading recycle trucks with empty containers, loading shipping containers
  • Assembling, addressing, stamping, loading and shipping merchandise or material
  • Receiving, unpacking, verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material
  • Arranging for the transportation of products while utilizing a handheld RF scanner focusing on inventory control and documentation
  • Examine shipment contents and compare them with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy
  • Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes
  • Prepare documents such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders to route materials
  • Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping using hand tools, power tools, or postage meter
  • Load trucks
  • Support efforts to implement and maintain the Responsible Care 14001 (RC14001)/Environment, Health, Safety, & Sustainability (EHS&S) management system
  • Conform with the EHS&S Policy and the Cardinal Rules
  • Maintain a safe and secure workplace and meet environmental site requirements
  • Support the EHS&S objectives and targets, and any specific action plans or management programs assigned
  • Understand the EHS&S risks and impacts of the employee’s job and functional area, including appropriate controls and procedures
  • Understand the EHS&S impacts/consequence that could result if specified procedures are not followed
  • Report accidents and incidents to a supervisor or the EHS&S department
  • Participating in required EHS&S training
  • Other duties as requested
