About The Position

QuickCable is seeking a Material Handler for their Receiving department. This role is responsible for maintaining inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock, and recording their locations. The Material Handler will also locate and verify materials and supplies listed on production orders. The company is the leading domestic manufacturer of connectors, cable assemblies, and tools in the DC Electrical Market, with products used in various commercial and industrial equipment. They engineer and manufacture in the United States, have a strong presence in Canada, and distribute globally.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 year receiving and/or material handling experience.
  • Valid driver's license required Clean Driving Record for last 3 years.
  • Must successfully complete forklift operator training.
  • Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide. Ability to perform these operations using units of weight and length measurement.
  • Ability to accurately read and comprehend instructions, packing lists, and purchase orders.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills/data entry.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs or more on frequent basis.
  • Proficient in Receiving Techniques

Responsibilities

  • Operate material handling equipment including sit down and standup forklifts, and hand trucks.
  • Move materials to correct inventory location.
  • Move completed production items to inventory home locations.
  • Replenish production with materials.
  • Unload finished product and raw materials from trucks.
  • Check incoming shipments against purchase orders for accuracy for both part number and quantity.
  • Check condition of shipments and report damaged items to the purchasing departments.
  • Prepare and load scrap shipments.
  • Observe all safety rules and regulations.
  • Report unsafe acts to the supervisor.
  • Clean and maintain inventory storage areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership team.
  • Additional responsibilities will be required upon Supervisors discretion.
