About The Position

The Material Handler is responsible for accurately and promptly transporting materials to/from workstations and racks, utilizing forklifts, carts and pallet jacks; while following safety rules, meeting productivity standards and achieving attendance requirements. Artistree-Kernersville is seeking a Material Handler for their Receiving Department.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent
• Pallet jack experience
• Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English fluently
• Must have general, verbal, and numerical intelligence, including reading and matching of numerical sequences
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure and ruler; accurately read calipers
• 1 year experience in manufacturing
• Constantly stand and frequently walk
• Frequently bend from waist and twist
• Constantly lift up to 30lbs/13.6kgs and occasionally lift up to 50lbs/23.6kgs from floor to overhead
• Occasionally reach horizontally and overhead
• Constantly push/pull using total body and upper extremities, from floor to overhead, and occasionally reach horizontally
• Feel with the touch of the fingers
• Constantly grasp, carry, and push with both hands
• Constantly move arms, hands and fingers to grasp, manipulate, or move/transport objects
• Work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Satisfy federal, state, and local legal requirements of the job.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of RF scan gun preferred
• forklift experience

Responsibilities

• Handling of Goods and Materials: Transports goods to production and bin location. Loads/off-loads materials for use in production. Puts raw materials and packaging supplies in proper inventory location. Meets or exceeds productivity standards set by management.
• Quality: Alerts management of issues or discrepancies. Participates in physical inventories and cycle counts.
• Safety & Organization: Maintains a clean work area for safe and efficient operation. Inspects equipment as required to ensure safety and accuracy. Follows all safety requirements for machine operation. Wears appropriate safety equipment at all times.
• Provides support to other production teams or functions, as needed.
