About The Position

The Material Handler supplies the production lines, and ensures that materials are accurately entered, and delivered on time. This role involves organizing and stocking material requirements for production operations utilizing First In/First Out, ensuring compliance to SWI for delivery routes, constructing boxes for parts, and checking all full, acceptable boxes for proper bar code labels. The Material Handler will load parts to the next stock location, ensure accuracy of inventory in CMS, and count and label all unused parts, returning them to the stock area. Additionally, they will inspect and accept parts per work instruction/process book/procedures to ensure correct quantity, quality, and racking. This role also involves recommending proposals for improving production, processes, systems productivity, and the work environment, while being aware of Safety, Health & Environmental policies. The Material Handler follows and supports LMV Automotive Systems and Magna’s operating principles, including the Magna Employee Charter and the Open Door Policy, and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to work well with others and build positive relationships
  • Ability to meet production requirements
  • Ability to comprehend written instructions.
  • Ability to pass and maintain a material handling equipment license for tow tractors, forklifts, and any additional material handling equipment deemed necessary for the job.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and stock all material requirements for production operations utilizing First In/First Out.
  • Ensure compliance to SWI for delivery routes.
  • Construct boxes for parts.
  • Check all full, acceptable boxes for proper bar code labels.
  • Load Part to the next stock location and ensure accuracy of inventory in CMS.
  • Count and label all unused parts and return to stock area.
  • Inspect/Accept parts per work instruction/ process book/ procedures to ensure correct quantity, quality, and racking.
  • Recommend proposals for improving production, processes, systems productivity and work environment.
  • Aware of Safety, Health & Environmental policies.
  • Follows and supports LMV Automotive Systems and Magna’s operating principles, including: Magna Employee Charter – Operating under its principles by treating all associates equally, fairly with dignity and respect. Open Door Policy – Solves issues with two-way, open and friendly communication.
