Material Handler - Metals
About The Position
This role is responsible for setting up department workstations and production lines for maximum efficiency. The Material Handler organizes the movement of work-in-process, finished goods, and materials. They operate material handling equipment, clean and maintain inventory, and bring supplies to production lines. The position also involves strapping, banding, and wrapping products for shipment, using a computer system to track inventory, and maintaining records of material usage and transfers. Additionally, the Material Handler assists leaders and operators, follows work instructions and safety procedures, and may rotate into other departments. They operate assembly and production equipment, work cooperatively with coworkers, and maintain good attendance and flexibility. The role requires meeting physical/mental demands, complying with company policies, and training others. Two positions are available: 1st Shift Mon-Fri and 1st Shift Tues-Sat.

Responsibilities
- Helps to set up department work stations and production lines for maximum efficiency
- Organizes movement of work-in-process and finish goods and materials for maximum efficiency
- Operates material handling equipment, such as hand jacks and motorized fork lifts
- Cleans, maintains and replenishes corrugated stock and inventory
- Brings packaging, corrugated and molded product and hardware to production lines/presses/areas
- Strap/bands and or wraps products for shipment
- Uses the computer system to accurately and effectively track inventory
- Maintains accurate records of material usage and transfers from work -in - process to finished goods
- Assists leaders and operators with various departmental tasks as needed
- See, read and follows work instructions, safety procedures and completes various forms and reports
- Able to rotate into other departments to perform similar tasks as needed
- Operates various assembly, production equipment and hand tools
- Works with co-workers in a safe, professional and cooperative manner
