About The Position

Under the direction of the Shift Supervisor, this individual will work with all operators to ensure that they bring out the correct material in a timely fashion to keep the machines running or set up as quickly as possible with the least amount of downtime and using the FIFO process to make sure that stock is being rotated correctly.

Requirements

  • Must have a forklift license to safely operate a forklift truck.
  • Good oral communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and interested in learning other positions.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Must work well with others in a team atmosphere.
  • Excellent attendance.
  • Detail / Quality oriented.
  • Work overtime when needed.
  • Able to maintain a clean work area.
  • Be a safety conscious individual who takes their time to do all duties properly and safely.
  • Must wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE): Safety Glasses must be worn while in the production areas.
  • When driving the forklift, proper forklift safety rules must be used at all times.
  • Must wear work appropriate apparel. No hoodies, open toe shoes or head/earphones.
  • Must use proper lifting techniques.
  • Must Use proper Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) rules for mechanical issues.
  • When using chemicals, must replace them in the original container and be labeled to identify the contents inside.
  • Must make sure there is at least one person who knows where you are always in case of fire or natural disaster as part of the buddy system.

Nice To Haves

  • Manufacturing experience preferred but not necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Clock in upon arrival, also punch into material handling and clock out when leaving GF property.
  • Perform daily safety checks and complete forklift checklists.
  • Plug in the hi-lo at the end of shift and at both break times.
  • Review machine schedules to determine material needs and maintain a supply of 2-3 rolls ahead of each operator.
  • Prepare machines for the next shift.
  • Keep up with material needs for 4-5 machines, including rolls, boxes, cores, and pallets.
  • Understand Part Tracker in the Epicor Software.
  • Print out and use a Job Pick List.
  • Understand Sales Orders and Job Travelers.
  • Return material taken off machines to its original location or transfer it to a new rack location correctly.
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings and pay attention to details.
