About The Position

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Material Handlers/Loaders for projects located in the Augusta, GA area. This is a first shift opportunity, and the pay rate is $26-32/hour based on experience and skill level. Requirements

  • Pass a drug screen, background check, and physical test
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous experience in material handling, loading, warehouse, shipping, or manufacturing preferred
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification required
  • Ability to safely work around chemicals, industrial equipment, and moving vehicles
  • Ability to read and understand shipping paperwork, labels, SOPs, and work instructions

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a chemical plant, bulk loading operation, or hazardous materials environment
  • Familiarity with tanker, railcar, or bulk liquid loading procedures
  • Knowledge of SDS, chemical labeling, and hazardous material handling requirements
  • Experience using ERP systems, barcode scanners, or shipping/inventory software

Responsibilities

  • Safely load and unload raw materials, packaged goods, and finished products from trucks, trailers, railcars, or storage areas
  • Move materials throughout the plant using forklifts
  • Stage materials for production, shipping, or storage according to schedules and plant needs
  • Inspect trailers, containers, pallets, hoses, and loading equipment prior to use
  • Ensure proper labeling, identification, and segregation of materials, including hazardous chemicals and compatible products
  • Assist with bulk and packaged product loading operations following plant procedures and customer requirements
  • Connect and disconnect loading hoses or transfer lines as trained and authorized
  • Monitor loading activities to ensure safe transfer, accurate quantities, and prevention of spills or contamination
  • Complete required shipping, receiving, and inventory documentation accurately
  • Perform routine inventory checks, cycle counts, and material reconciliation as assigned
  • Report damaged containers, leaks, spills, equipment issues, or inventory discrepancies immediately
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of loading areas, warehouses, and storage locations
  • Follow all plant safety policies, PPE requirements, SOPs, DOT procedures, and environmental regulations
  • Participate in spill response, emergency response, and safety training as required
  • Work closely with production, shipping, maintenance, and supervision to support efficient plant operations
