About The Position

This role is responsible for various shipping and receiving functions, including loading and unloading trucks, managing stock inventory, and ensuring materials are properly documented and transported to their correct destinations. The position requires attention to detail, the ability to work efficiently, and adherence to safety protocols. The Material Handler will also participate in continuous improvement activities and assist other personnel as needed.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma/GED
  • Must pass a skills-based test.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work efficiently and effectively; self-motivated; self-starter.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must be conscientious, diplomatic, and detail oriented.
  • Must pass a company background check and drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating an overhead crane.
  • Experience with forklifts and Combi-lift.

Responsibilities

  • Properly load trucks with the equipment provided, considering delivery locations and driver routes.
  • Document all items loaded onto trucks on a load sheet.
  • Unload trucks, verify contents, ticket, and deliver materials to the appropriate department.
  • Utilize Stock and Open order reports.
  • Put away and pull stock inventory.
  • Locate and pull stock inventory in EPICS.
  • Check and measure material going to anodize when required.
  • Band and ticket material going to outside vendors.
  • Stack, stage, and band material on skids while waiting for shipment.
  • Perform all other receiving functions, including receiving raw material and supplies.
  • Set up Packers with material and transport packed material to shipping.
  • Understand material handling techniques to package parts off CNC as necessary.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
  • Assist other personnel and perform other duties as required by the supervisor.
  • Inform the Supervisor of any equipment or other problems.
  • Work in a safe manner, always wearing all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a clean, clutter-free workstation.
  • Participate in a collaborative environment.
  • Comply with safety policies and procedures.
  • Accept feedback from the Team Leader to ensure bundles meet safety standards.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
