About The Position

The Line Support Material Handler contributes to the safe, efficient flow of daily production through the movement of raw materials, in-process, finished goods, and containers. This role ensures that all material requirements for production operations are organized and stocked utilizing the First In/First Out method, and that materials are replenished and set up in their proper places to prevent downtime. The position involves performing various material handling duties, including moving and loading/unloading parts manually or via tugger operation, inspecting incoming and outgoing parts, operating an inventory scanner, and cycling material according to FIFO standards. Additionally, the role requires inspecting and accepting parts based on work instructions and procedures to ensure correct quantity, quality, and racking, and recommending improvements for production, processes, and the work environment. Maintaining a clean and safe working environment is crucial, along with adhering to LMV Automotive Systems and Magna’s operating principles, including the Magna Employee Charter, Open Door Policy, 5S, Safety First, company quality and environmental policies, and core values.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and stock all material requirements for production operations utilizing First In/First Out.
  • Ensure compliance with SWI for delivery routes.
  • Ensure all material/stock is replenished, set up, and in their proper place to prevent and/or eliminate downtime.
  • Perform material handling duties: move, load/unload parts either by manual or tugger operation; carry out and record incoming/outgoing inspection parts, tags, racks, etc.; operate inventory scanner; cycle material based on FIFO standards.
  • Inspect/Accept parts per work instruction/ process book/ procedures to ensure correct quantity, quality, and racking.
  • Recommend proposals for improving production, processes, systems productivity, and work environment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Follow and support LMV Automotive Systems and Magna’s operating principles, including: Magna Employee Charter, Open Door Policy, 5S, Safety First, Company quality and environmental policies, and Core values.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
