Material Handler/Line Feeder
About The Position
This role is responsible for maintaining inventory areas, ensuring good housekeeping on the production floor and in warehouse staging/return areas, and operating various material handling equipment. The Material Handler/Line Feeder will also be responsible for accurate paperwork, packaging and labeling materials, making trays for production, and stocking machines with necessary supplies. Additionally, this position involves assisting mold technicians with resin and color changes, color delivery, and communicating effectively with team members and management. A key aspect of this role is upholding food safety and regulatory responsibilities, including notifying management of potential issues and acting to resolve them within their scope of work.
Requirements
- Ability to operator manual pallet jack, sit-down forklift and become certified on the motorized pallet jack and forklift.
- Ability to solve complex mathematical equations to maintain proper inventory levels.
- Communicate effectively to team members and members of management
Responsibilities
- Maintain the 28-hour inventory area daily
- Maintain good housekeeping on the production floor.
- Maintain good housekeeping in the Warehouse staging area and return area.
- Operate manual pallet jack, sit-down forklift and become certified on the motorized pallet jack and forklift.
- Maintain accurate and legible paperwork
- Properly label and return materials to the warehouse return area
- Weigh and package materials
- Count IML labels to be returned
- Make trays for production
- Take finished product to the wrapper line if the palletizer is not working
- Keep all machines stocked with the correct handles, grips, wire, gaskets, IML labels, gaskets.
- Assist the mold techs with all aspects of the resin and color changes
- Assist the mold techs with color delivery to the machines
- Communicate effectively to team members and members of management
- Staff are informed and held accountable for their food safety and regulatory responsibilities
- Staff are positively encouraged and required to notify management of actual or potential food safety issues; and
- Staff are empowered to act to resolve food safety issues within their scope of work.
