About The Position

The Material Handler Lead supports warehouse and production operations at Symrise’s Hodges, South Carolina facility on first shift. The role safely receives, moves, stores, transfers, and ships materials using forklifts, SAP, and RF scanners. It requires accurate and timely handling of materials and documentation, inventory cycle counts, and occasional backup support for office personnel with customer-shipment paperwork and SAP reports. Training is provided for required equipment and systems. The position sometimes works in non-climate-controlled areas.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Solid written and verbal communication skills.
Positive, coachable personality.
Training in the use of forklift trucks, SAP, and laser scanners is required and provided.

Nice To Haves

Three or more years of forklift experience in a manufacturing or distribution center environment.
Logistics experience.
SAP experience.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, software applications, and SAP.

Responsibilities

Receive, move, ship, and transfer materials accurately and on time.
Safely load and unload trucks and stage materials in warehouses.
Prepare raw materials and finished products for customer shipments, internal warehouse transfers, and production.
Verify labels and documentation for accuracy.
Put away materials and accurately record transactions using RF functions.
Participate in inventory cycle counts.
Back up office personnel by making bookings, preparing customer-shipment paperwork, and running SAP reports.
Perform data entry using laser scanners and/or computers and prepare receipt and shipping documents.
Communicate and work effectively with Quality Control, production departments, colleagues, and logistics supervision.
Perform housekeeping and lift-truck operation, and participate in continuous improvement and training activities.
Train new technicians when required.
Stay current with company safety training and policies.
