About The Position

The Wasserstrom Company, a leading Food Service Distributor, is seeking Material Handler IV positions for its Distribution Center in Allentown, PA. This role involves directing and auditing the work activities of warehouse workers to ensure efficiency, safety, on-time delivery, and quality assurance standards. The position utilizes the AS400 Warehouse Management System for order fulfillment, issue resolution, and workload organization. Responsibilities include overseeing workflow, managing inventory discrepancies, conducting quality and safety audits, training associates, operating various equipment, and ensuring proper packing and labeling of shipments.

  • Capable of working independently and/or a member of a team, needs to be detail oriented
  • Must be able to handle assignments and deadlines
  • Be organized and able to adjust priorities to meet time constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and support management of workflow
  • Utilize AS400 Warehouse Management System to create and sort batches of orders, communicate order fulfillment issues to sales team, resolves system batching issues, and organizes workload for the DC floor
  • Assign Tasks
  • Monitor and respond to e-mails and other forms of communication, verbal, written, and electronically, in a timely manner, including requests from management, sales, etc.
  • Uses AS400 and SAP to identify discrepancies
  • Miscellaneous Inventory Rectification/Identification
  • Conduct Quality and Safety Audits
  • Train associates on proper procedures, practices and equipment
  • Properly operate multiple pieces of equipment including stock chasers, order pickers, stand-up and sit- down forklifts, turret trucks
  • Pick/put away/count product from/to racking, either case or pallet quantities
  • Utilize RF and/or pick label to verify item/quantity/location to pick and/or receive
  • Pass all safety checks and forklift certifications on all equipment and complete daily operator checklists
  • Mark and label containers, container tags, or products, using marking tools
  • Measure, weight and count products and materials
  • Uses AS400 computer to print labels, Bol’s and pack slip
  • Validates quantity, quality, and model number of product
  • Packs outbound cartons/shipments in a way that will minimize risk of damage to product and cost of freight
  • Applies all required labeling to products, cartons, and pallets Utilizing shipment software
  • Sort and Segregate products and materials
  • Assemble, pack, and seal cartons
  • Loading/Unloading trailers
  • Consolidate and transport picked products using carts and hand jacks
  • Maintain an incident and accident- free driving history
