About The Position

This role is located in Miamisburg, OH, and offers a 2nd Shift schedule from 2 PM to 10 PM. The Material Handler will develop skills in warehouse operations, focusing on both production and vendor products. Key responsibilities include managing the receiving dock, handling the final disposition of products, and ensuring accurate processing and documentation of raw materials and finished goods. The role involves utilizing material handling equipment for loading, unloading, and moving materials, preparing orders for shipment, and responding to inter-company requests. Additionally, the position requires training and supporting team members, identifying process improvements to enhance quality and reduce waste, and performing general housekeeping tasks to maintain 5S standards. Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of experience in material handling and powered equipment operation preferred.
  • Proficiency with inventory control systems, storage locator systems, and basic math calculations.
  • Demonstrated skill and safety in operating material handling equipment (Order Picker, Swing Reach, Forklift, Hand Trucks, Pallet Trucks, Clamp Truck).
  • Must be able to obtain a Material Handling License.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and good judgment in working with all levels of personnel.
  • Physical capability to continuously stand, sit, stretch, reach, stoop, bend, and work at varying heights.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 100 lbs. occasionally with mechanical assistance or team support (up to 2000 lbs. using appropriate equipment).
  • Safety-conscious mindset with alertness to potential hazards.

Responsibilities

  • Working the main receiving dock and managing the final disposition of products.
  • Receipt, identification, verification, storage, and distribution of raw materials and finished goods according to department guidelines and specifications.
  • Accurately processing and maintaining all related documentation via PC and handwritten records, and maintaining inventory per department guidelines.
  • Utilizing appropriate material handling equipment to load, unload, and move materials; preparing orders for shipment including pallet labeling, consolidation, and stretch wrapping.
  • Responding to inter-company requests for materials and material counts, serving as a resource for team members in resolving related issues.
  • Training, assisting, and supporting team members in problem-solving and achieving department goals.
  • Continuously reviewing processes and identifying improvement methods to enhance quality, reduce waste, and eliminate non-value-added work.
  • Performing general housekeeping tasks, maintaining 5S standards, and assisting other job functions within the process based on business needs and leadership direction.
