About The Position

The Material Handler II is responsible for keeping our warehouse running smoothly by handling day-to-day logistics and computer teardowns. This role involves loading and unloading trucks, packing and unpacking items, and organizing, finding, and stocking inventory. Additionally, you will handle the physical disassembly of computer units to carefully salvage and save reusable parts.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work standard business hours (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday) on a consistent basis.
  • Ability to work occasional overtime and weekend shifts as needed to meet production deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain a reliable 96% or better attendance average over a rolling 13-week period.
  • Ability to work well under general supervision and follow standard warehouse instructions.
  • Effective math, reading and communication skills.
  • Comfortable learning and navigating Acer’s internal computer databases and systems.
  • Technical knowledge and practical ability to safely disassemble computer hardware (desktops and laptops), identify functional components, and extract them without causing physical damage.
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies in spare parts and paperwork.
  • Ability to collaborate easily and get along well with coworkers in a fast-paced environment.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, lift items, and walk up and down facility stairs during a shift.
  • Frequent use of your hands to handle small components and operate manual tools.
  • Must be able to safely lift and carry up to 45 lbs. using proper lifting forms and techniques.
  • Ability to stand and walk on hard surfaces for the duration of a shift.
  • Ability to communicate with peers and supervisors via telephone and in person.
  • Good eyesight (including close vision and focusing) to read small serial numbers and safely navigate the warehouse floor.
  • Close-toed shoes are mandatory on the production floor; steel-toed shoes are mandatory in the warehouse area.
  • Must safely use hand tools like tape guns, box cutters, and screwdrivers every day.
  • Follow all safety rules when working near automated conveyors, packing machines, and forklifts.
  • Safely use basic cleaning supplies and greasing agents to wipe down and maintain tools.

Nice To Haves

  • 6 to 12 months of experience working in a warehouse, shipping department, or electronics repair environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Unload, check in, and scan high volumes of materials and supplies into Acer’s inventory tracking system.
  • Proactively identify, investigate, and resolve data errors or inventory variances discovered during daily warehouse functions.
  • Ensure the steady daily check-in and physical disassembly of computer units and monitors.
  • Carefully remove required parts from teardown units and bring them back into good stock or send them down line to RTV coordinators for repair.
  • Create, process, and close out credit orders for SSD, HDD, and CPU vendors accurately and on time.
  • Talk regularly with vendor contacts to maintain good, professional working relationships.
  • Get orders and warehouse materials packed, labeled, and staged for shipping.
  • Print out required shipping and warehouse paperwork and close out completed orders in the system.
  • Use provided paperwork, picking sheets, or digital instructions to quickly locate and pull items from warehouse shelves.
  • Unpack, receive, and stage product for work by other operations.
  • Safely load and unload incoming and outgoing freight trucks.
  • Securely pack finished products by hand or by operating automated packing machines.
  • Perform regular cycle counts and inventory audits as requested by supervisors.
  • Clean, sweep, and maintain organized work areas according to warehouse standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
