About The Position

This position is responsible for reading work orders or following oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved. The Material Handler will load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand and/or forklift. They will also load materials into vehicles and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit. Additionally, the role involves counting, weighing, and recording the number of units of materials moved or handled on a daily production sheet, and attaching identifying tags or labels to materials. Scanning freight via the warehouse management system with RF equipment is also a key function. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
• Ability to read, comprehend and complete basic checklists, forms or other related documents.
• Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
• Balances team and individual responsibilities.
• Less than one year related experience
