About The Position

The Material Handler II is responsible for verifying received items against putaway documents or RF devices, ensuring accuracy in product description, quantity, packaging unit, and expiration date. This role involves breaking down products into correct selling units, stocking them in designated locations, and noting any discrepancies. The Material Handler II will also manage stock rotation for items with expiration dates, learn to utilize RF technology, and handle damaged products or spills appropriately. Training will be provided in various distribution functions, including Receiving and Picking. The position also requires participation in special projects and other duties as assigned, meeting company standards for work quality and quantity, and adhering to all Company policies and procedures, including WorldWide Business Standards and directives on workplace behavior.

Requirements

• Good reading, writing, math, and computer skills.
• Good communication (written/verbal) skills.

• Ability to follow instructions, work under stress, and handle multiple assignments.
• Ability to read fine print and differentiate products with similar characteristics (size, color, vendor code).
• Knowledge of basic warehousing operations preferred.
• Lift, carry or move products up to: 0-25 lbs – Continuous
• Lift, carry or move products up to: 25 - 50 lbs – Infrequent
• Pushing/pulling: uses hand jack. 25lbs of force is needed.
• Gripping and fine hand manipulation: Continuously
• Twist/bending: Frequently
• Squatting: Frequently
• Kneeling: Frequently
• Reaching overhead: Occasionally
• Climbing ladders/stepstools: Occasionally
• Walk/stand on concrete: Continuously
• Use of Put away/Replenishment cart: Occasionally
• Utilizes hand tools such as utility knife, pallet jack, RF device and tape gun

Responsibilities

• Verifies that items have been received correctly by matching product description, quantity, packaging unit, and expiration date (where applicable) on the putaway document or RF device, with the product received.
• Breaks down products received into correct selling units and puts products into correct stocking location, as noted on the putaway document or RF device.
• Notes discrepancies and marks products for review by department team lead or supervisor as appropriate.
• Ensures items with expiration dates have stock rotated accordingly.
• Learns to utilize RF technology.
• If products or inventory are damaged, brings to designated damaged area in Inventory Control or calls the spill team as appropriate.
• Will also be trained in various distribution functions such as Receiving and Picking.
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.
• Meets company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis.
• Performs all work related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures including WorldWide Business Standards.
• Adheres to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments.

Benefits

• Hourly rate of $19.25 for work performed in Sparks, Nevada.
• For internal promotions, an increase of $1.25 to a current employee's hourly rate.
• For lateral, internal transfers, no change to the employee's hourly rate.
