About The Position

Second Shift Material Handler Stafford Springs, CT P osition Summary The Material Handler is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant movement of packaging materials, finished goods, work-in-process materials, and scrap/recycle materials throughout the facility. This role supports production and warehouse operations by ensuring accurate material flow, inventory control, and adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of experience required
  • Basic math and reading skills
  • Basic inventory and cycle counting knowledge.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse and/ or manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Move raw materials, parts, work-in-process, and finished goods to designated areas using appropriate equipment and PPE.
  • Store and issue packaging materials to support production and shipping requirements.
  • Wrap, strap, and prepare skids for safe storage and transportation.
  • Move scrap and recyclable materials to appropriate disposal or recycling areas.
  • Perform inventory transactions (IC and/or IT) and maintain accurate material tracking within systems.
  • Conduct cycle counts of raw materials, parts, and work-in-process inventory as .
  • Report inventory discrepancies promptly to supervision.
  • Observe all plant, EHS, and safety rules and report unsafe conditions or equipment issues , including completing daily PIV safety checklist .
  • May require the h andl ing of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready warehouse in accordance with 5S standards.
  • Communicate with supervision regarding safety concerns, equipment issues, or operational challenges.
  • Provide support if needed during manpower shortages or high-volume workload periods.
  • Perform additional duties or training assignments as directed by leadership.
