About The Position

This role is responsible for the receipt and processing of all inbound freight, including proper identification of merchandise and comparison to appropriate paperwork and computer data. The Material Handler II/Receiver will receive shipments into the Warehouse Computer System using specific procedures, potentially assist in sorting packages, and follow guidelines for exceptions and discrepancies. The position also involves participation in special projects and other duties as required, including processing large parcel shipments. All employees are expected to meet company standards for quantity and quality of work, comply with all Company policies and procedures, and adhere to standards of workplace behavior.

Requirements

  • Good reading, writing, math, and computer skills.
  • Good communication (written/verbal) skills.
  • Detail oriented and accountable for making accurate decisions under set guidelines.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work under stress, and handle multiple assignments.
  • Ability to read fine print and differentiate products with similar characteristics (size, color, vendor code).
  • Knowledge of basic warehousing operations preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, or comparable work experience.
  • Lift, carry or move products up to: 0-50 lb. Continuous
  • Lift, carry or move products up to: 51-75 lb. Occasional
  • Walk on concrete floors continuously.
  • Gripping, pushing, pulling and fine hand manipulation continuously.
  • Twist or bend torso continuously.
  • Climb ladder occasionally.
  • Handling tools continuously (Computer, Utility knife, Pallet Jack).

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the receipt and processing of all inbound freight, including proper identification of merchandise and the comparison to appropriate paperwork as well as computer data.
  • Receives shipments into the Warehouse Computer System by the following URFing (UPS, FedEx Air, FedEx) procedure: Place a DCI (detail check-in) label on the packing slip, record the number of boxes or skids received, process order.
  • May assist in sorting packages by vendor and purchase order.
  • Follow Receiving guidelines for exceptions and discrepancies.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required, including processing of large parcel shipments.
  • Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures including WorldWide Business Standards.
  • Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments.
