The Material Handler receives and issues raw materials, assemblies, sub-assemblies, tools, and supplies while ensuring all required paperwork is forwarded to computer services for data entry. The role supports planners and buyers with material availability processes and is responsible for boxing, packing, and shipping finished products and raw materials as appropriate. Contributes to a safe, engaged, and inclusive work culture by following all policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment, safe operation of equipment, and completion of 5S duties. Uses a variety of material handling equipment and hand tools to load and unload trucks in the receiving area and to place materials in designated bin locations or deliver them to work centers. Identifies opportunities for process improvement and performs root cause analysis for quality or production issues. Maintains quality standards by conducting visual inspections prior to shipment, identifying nonconforming parts, and troubleshooting errors. Cross-trains and provides coverage for other roles and job functions as needed. Utilizes supply chain tracking systems to manage and maintain inventory. Operates a forklift to move and load materials and/or gear. Operates a gantry-style overhead crane for gear loading and shipment.
