Material Handler I (Shipping - Day Shift)

This position supports Thermo Fisher Scientific's Microbiology Division (MBD) through the Tampa, FL Distribution Center. You, along with your teammates, will be responsible for shipping medical testing supplies to hospitals, clinics and elsewhere on time every day. These testing supplies are critical for healthcare workers to diagnose illnesses in their patients. If testing supplies are unavailable, patients must wait to begin treatment plans in scenarios where time is rarely an ally.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to read English.
- Safety conscientiousness.
- Work well within a team environment, utilizing good communication skills.
- Versatility to be able to perform in a variety of roles within the team.
Nice To Haves
- Math skills are a plus.
- Experience in distribution, warehouse or supply chain or related field.
- Experience with powered industrial trucks (order pickers/forklifts).
- Experience working with the SAP operating system and BluJay shipping software is helpful.
Responsibilities
- Picking orders onto a mobile wire cart, ensuring the right products from the right bins in the right quantities are picked to fulfill the orders.
- Packing customer orders into shipping boxes at a stationary packing station.
- Following special shipping instructions accurately for orders shipping via FedEx Ground and Express, and other customer-requested exceptions.
