About The Position

The Material Handler I at Ditch Witch fills orders, receives and stocks parts in the warehouse, delivers parts using forklifts or a Raymond, and unloads trucks. The role also includes routine maintenance of forklifts and parts wagons and other duties as assigned. The position is on the night shift and pays $18.89 per hour, plus a $2.00 shift differential. The work takes place primarily indoors in a manufacturing plant with variable temperature, humidity, noise, and dirt, with limited outdoor exposure. The schedule varies with production needs, ranging from 8 to 12 hours daily, includes some scheduled Saturdays, and carries an expectation to work at least 50% of extra time. Overtime is paid after 40 hours per week.

Requirements

Appropriate reading, clerical, and basic math skills, including the ability to understand written instructions, record transactions accurately, and perform basic calculations.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior forklift experience and/or certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Read information from various documents.
Locate and identify parts in the warehouse.
Use a forklift, Raymond, or hoist to move or deliver parts and containers.
Count parts or use scales to weigh-count them.
Use a computer to check parts location, inventory, and routing or ordering.
Perform routine forklift service, including filling the propane tank, checking and adding engine oil, cleaning the radiator, and washing the forklift.
Fill orders, receive and stock parts, and unload trucks.
Perform routine maintenance on parts wagons.
Perform other duties as assigned.
