About The Position

Dover Food Retail (DFR) is a leading manufacturer of Display Cases, Specialty Products, Refrigeration Systems, Power Systems and Comprehensive Services. DFR is looking for a Material Handler (Aftermarket Packer) to be responsible for accurately and safely packing materials while maintaining the flow of materials to the shipping department to ensure that all aspects of the company needs are being met. This role is located in Richmond, VA.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years Forklift experience.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds plus bending, twisting or lifting from awkward positions or in tight spaces.
  • Must be able to push and pull cases in excess of 200lbs to 800lbs repetitiously.
  • Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to sit, stoop, and/or kneel.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years experience pulling orders in a warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

  • Checks AS400 for orders to be packed, what materials needed, makes boxes, and gets skids to pack the parts.
  • Operates hand trucks, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material to and from areas and departments within the facility.
  • Responsible for the ongoing inventory accuracy of the facility.
  • Notifies Aftermarket lead, planners, and supervisor when material control issues are discovered.
  • Works with Aftermarket planners, leads, and supervisor during investigations of quality issues, inventory issues, shipping complaints and process improvements.
  • Works as part of the Aftermarket team to ensure all requested material for work are completed accurately in a timely manner.
  • Packs and transports material in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintains Aftermarket documentation, quality standards and other related records.
  • Participates in the continuous improvement of the Aftermarket department.
  • Maintains good housekeeping and organization of the packing area.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
