Material Handler I / Class C Driver (Mon-Fri 8:00AM - 4:30PM)
About The Position
The Material Handler/Class C Driver-Bobtail is responsible for moving materials safely and efficiently between warehouse locations, customers, and suppliers. This role includes receiving, storing, picking, loading, unloading, and delivering materials while maintaining accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS). The position operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and a Class C Bobtail truck to support daily warehouse operations and delivery schedules. The ideal candidate is safety-minded, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. This role requires loading and unloading materials, completing local pick-ups and deliveries, maintaining accurate paperwork and inventory transactions, and providing excellent service to internal and external customers. The position also participates in a rotating on-call schedule with other drivers to support after-hours deliveries and transportation needs during weekdays, weekends, and holidays as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid California Class C driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Minimum [X] years of warehouse, material handling, shipping/receiving, or delivery experience
- Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment
- Experience operating a Class C Bobtail truck
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, staging, loading, and shipping materials
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory management processes
- Proficiency in completing shipping documents, delivery records, inventory transactions, and other required documentation
- Basic computer skills, including data entry and inventory tracking systems
- Knowledge of applicable warehouse safety practices and material handling procedures.

Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, verify, and process incoming and outgoing materials, inventory, and shipments
- Load, unload, pick, pack, label, stage, and prepare materials for storage, transport, and shipment
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, RF scanners, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently
- Process inventory transactions in the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and maintain accurate records
- Perform cycle counts, stock checks, inventory audits, and support physical inventory activities
- Consolidate inventory, pallets, and shipments to maximize efficiency and storage utilization
- Measure, weigh, and document materials and shipments as required
- Prepare, verify, and maintain shipping, receiving, delivery, and inventory documentation
- Identify and report inventory discrepancies, shortages, damages, safety concerns, or operational issues
- Safely operate company vehicles, including a Class C Bobtail truck, to transport materials, equipment, and products as assigned
- Complete daily vehicle inspections and maintain required transportation documentation and logs
- Assist with route coverage, material transfers, and delivery activities as needed to support business operations
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to support after-hours transportation needs during weekdays, weekends, and holidays as required
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following company policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations
- Cross-train in other operational functions and assist other departments as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned. Job duties and responsibilities may change based on business needs
