About The Position

At Mygrant Glass, we’re looking for a skilled and safety-conscious Material Handler/ Glass Handling Specialist to join our Portland team. If you know your way around material handling equipment—especially cherry pickers—and take pride in moving products with care and efficiency, this is your chance to become the maestro of our warehouse. You’ll play a vital role in orchestrating the flow of glass products, ensuring orders are accurate, safely handled, and ready to meet our customers’ needs. Glass Handling Specialists operate material handling equipment to select, stock, and organize product as well as hand-handle materials to stage at appropriate load sites. Glass Handling Specialists are responsible for timely and accurately selecting and stocking product to best achieve key performance indicators, directly impacting our customer service oriented goals.

Requirements

  • Experience in a warehouse environment
  • Familiar with modern warehouse software with basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Select incoming pick tickets using RFID technology to accurately fulfill customer orders.
  • Prepares, packs, and scans (as appropriate), and stages products for transfer and customer pick-up and delivery in accordance with established standards.
  • Quickly and accurately receive, process and store incoming auto glass product shipments.
  • Ensures shipments are inspected and damages or shortages are documented and recorded. Initiates freight claim procedure when necessary.
  • Checks incoming delivery contents against packing list to verify accurate and full delivery.
  • Verifies vendor part number and MGC stock number for all incoming products.
  • Prepares receiving reports and notes any shortages, damages or overages. Promptly reports any discrepancies to supervisors.
  • Stores incoming products in proper location according to bin number or product sequence.
  • Determines proper bin number and/or location of incoming products.
  • Verifies actual counts of stock against CORE inventory. Investigates and reports discrepancies.
  • Operates hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, order pickers, and OR other equipment safely and in accordance with organizational procedures.
  • Monitors equipment and promptly reports any safety or maintenance concerns to supervisors
  • Maintains required hazardous materials, forklift, and other internal and external certifications
  • Break down boxes, stock accessories and organize inventory as directed
  • Adhere to health & safety policies and quality standards.
  • Assist in maintaining appearance of branch as needed. Clean warehouse, counter area, etc.
  • Aid in prepping, inspecting, labeling and loading safely maintain KPI objectives and limit breakage.
  • Loads delivery vehicles and assists customers with will call pickups.
  • Drive company vehicles for customer deliveries, transfers or assigned maintenance
  • Processes customer returns. Ensures returns are in sellable condition per company policy.
  • Verifies that warranty paperwork has been properly and neatly filled out. Initiates warranty return process, and stages product in warranty area.
  • Processes documentation necessary to ship transfers and customer orders, including bills of lading, packing lists, small parcel manifests and other necessary documents.
  • Performs cycle counting on assigned items in order to keep accurate records of inventory.
  • Perform other job tasks as assigned.
