About The Position

We're seeking a safety-conscious experienced forklift operator to move products, equipment and materials in warehouse, yard or factory. The primary responsibility is driving a forklift to push, lift, tack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials in a warehouse, yard, or factory setting with minimum supervision. This role involves reading work orders, following oral instructions, loading and unloading materials, securing loads, and potentially weighing materials and recording information. The operator is also responsible for basic forklift maintenance, keeping records, maintaining cleanliness, and emptying trash. If assigned to inventory, responsibilities include maintaining the raw materials area, delivering materials to production, and receiving incoming raw materials.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience using forklifts in a manufacturing or warehouse setting
  • Experience using computers and completing paperwork
  • Ability to achieve and maintain forklift certification
  • Available to work open shift and overtime as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Global Shop Solutions or similar ERP software

Responsibilities

  • Drive forklift to push, lift, tack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials in warehouse, yard, or factory.
  • Read work orders and follow oral instructions for moving materials or containers.
  • Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, racks, and shelves by hand or with lift trucks.
  • Load materials into or onto feeding devices or vehicles and install strapping or bracing.
  • Convey materials to or from storage and work areas using lift trucks or other devices.
  • Secure lifting attachment to materials and convey load to destination.
  • Weigh materials or products and record weight or quantity on tags, labels, or production reports.
  • Perform basic forklift maintenance: check lubrications, fill fuel tank, change batteries, or replace liquefied gas tank.
  • Load and unload trucks.
  • Keep all required records.
  • Keep forklift clean.
  • Follow all verbal and written instructions pertaining to material handling and other assigned jobs.
  • Empty trash on each shift.
  • Maintain raw materials area in clean, orderly manner (if assigned to Inventory).
  • Deliver raw material to production line, as needed (if assigned to Inventory).
  • Receive incoming raw material and unload raw material trucks (if assigned to Inventory).
