About The Position

The Forklift Operator receives loading assignments from dispatch in order of priority, as well as oral and/or written instructions recorded in SharePoint. This role involves calculating truck loading configurations based on delivery materials, following scanner instructions, and adapting to changes in work priorities. The operator will be responsible for loading delivery/shipment materials within calculated timeframes and proposed floor space, performing overseas packaging, and maintaining order and cleanliness during and after each loading. A key aspect of this role is ensuring and monitoring the quality and stability of packages and stacking inside the truck, as well as packing or strapping packages to ensure stability or prevent damage. Safety is paramount, and the operator will ensure and monitor safety, assist colleagues when needed, and complete the loading document. Additional duties include connecting batteries to chargers and refilling them with water if required, counting items during inventory and cycle counts, and taking photos of the load to guarantee loading quality. The role also involves closing trailers (tarpaulins) outside of live load, respecting third-party equipment, and being courteous and polite with drivers, assisting them when needed. The operator must ensure drivers comply with Stow’s internal rules and comply with load-securing legislation. Pre-staging may be performed at the request of the supervisor, and 5S audits are conducted according to instructions. Optionally, the role may involve moving trailers using the tractor.
