About The Position

Purpose of Job: This position reports to the S/R Supervisor and is responsible for moving material and parts to and away from presses to support production.

Requirements

This position requires a General Educational Diploma (GED) or High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma.
Holds a valid Forklift license.
Forklift refresher training every 3 years.
Forklift experience useful

Responsibilities

Properly drivers forklift and moves material throughout the plant.
Properly scans barcode label in appropriate locations
Properly throws away old tags.
Timely puts skid in skid rack.
Timely helps operator by setting up station with correct material.
Puts trash & debris in proper container in a timely manner.
Removes parts from WC site and scans them into the next location in a timely manner.
Bring parts from Work in Progress (WIP) storage to press sites in a timely manner.
Keeps raw material storage and WIP storage areas organized.
Empty scrap hoppers into the correct recycling container as directed.
Brings empty part containers to correct location in a timely manner.
Accurately sets material at WC during setup.
Stages next material needed at WC site.
Competently performs safety checks on forklift at the start of each shift.
Based on company needs a flexible work schedule and/or overtime is needed.

Participate in and support lean manufacturing programs and principles with a focus to reduce costs with quality product such as Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Suggestion System, etc.
Actively participate in Continuous Improvement to continually strive to improve our processes and procedures.
Adhere to 5S: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain.
Employee is responsible for complying and supporting any environmental policies and programs put in place by Batesville Tool and Die, Inc. (BTD).
Employee may not bring any environmentally hazardous substances or compounds into BTD and is always conscious of the impact on the environment.
Support and adhere to Technical Specification (TS) and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) activities and procedures.
Perform any other duties as assigned with enthusiasm and without complaint.
