About The Position

The primary role of the Material Handler/Forklift Driver is to provide all required materials to each department before they are required. This position involves operating forklift equipment safely, moving raw materials to production lines, ensuring timely and accurate supply delivery, and adhering to all company policies and safety regulations. The role also includes managing inventory, updating the inventory management system, performing audits, and communicating effectively with supervisors and the Inventory Analyst team. The working conditions require strict adherence to safety policies, use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and the ability to work effectively in an environment with moving parts, fluctuating noise levels, and potentially tight spaces. Adherence to 5S – Lean practice is also expected.

Requirements

• Must have a valid US Driver License.
• Forklift experience.
• Knowledge of inventory receiving, processing, and storage procedures.
• Understanding of production line supply requirements and general production operations.
• Experience with all safe practices, procedures, and overall processes.
• Must meet physical fitness standards necessary for frequent lifting, walking, and standing.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment to ensure seamless operations across departments.
• Ability to adapt to changing work schedules, environments, and operational priorities.

Nice To Haves

• Microsoft office, preferred.
• Training in forklift operation and safety certifications preferred.
• Analytical problem solver with good communication skills.
• Experience with Sheet Metal.
• Hardware, Electronics, and shop tools a PLUS
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices to enhance operational efficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates forklift equipment as required, ensuring that safety standards are followed.
• Moves raw materials to production lines as assigned.
• Ensures that supplies arrive in proper quantities as scheduled.
• Conducts all materials handling procedures in accordance with established Company policies and procedures and safety regulations.
• Place all materials in the designated area.
• Ensure that all parts have been accounted for based on the pick list.
• Check off all delivered parts before the end of your shift.
• Communicate with Supervisors to ensure clear lines of communication.
• Multi-task and prioritization in accordance with company daily schedule and requirements.
• Accurately update the inventory management system to reflect real-time inventory status and facilitate easy tracking.
• Perform periodic audits to verify inventory accuracy and resolve discrepancies with the Inventory Analyst team.
• Monitor and report any material damages or discrepancies.
• Other duties as assigned.
