About The Position

The Material Handler/Delivery Driver fulfills orders, helps organize and maintain inventory, unloads delivery trucks, and puts stock away. The role also loads trucks and makes safe, courteous, and timely deliveries to customers. The position is based in Hermiston, Oregon, and is full-time, with a Monday-through-Friday schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Compensation is $20.00–$22.00 per hour, with a monthly incentive bonus available after 90 days of employment. There is no travel percentage specified beyond job-related deliveries. The work takes place in a warehouse and includes driving in all weather and making deliveries to construction job sites. The position involves operating warehouse and loading equipment, handling products, and meeting physical requirements such as lifting up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

At least one year of experience in a similar position is preferred.
Ability to operate a forklift and maintain forklift certification.
Clean driving record and ability to drive vehicles ranging from a small pickup truck to a 2-ton/5-speed flatbed diesel truck.
Must be at least 21 years old to meet auto insurance requirements.
Strong attention to detail.
Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate records.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to interact professionally with employees, customers, and vendors.
Understanding of safe warehouse practices.
Self-discipline and ability to independently identify and complete critical tasks with a sense of urgency.
Ability to perform essential warehouse tasks and lift up to 50 pounds to a height of 3–4 feet and load products into trucks.
Ability to remain in a stationary position for an extended period.
Ability to ascend and descend a ladder to pull or put away products from shelving and racking.
Ability to safely operate a dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift.
Ability to sit, walk, use hands to handle equipment, reach, talk, hear, stand, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; may need to traverse considerable distances within the facility.

Experience with RF devices is a plus.

Responsibilities

Locate material and pull orders using established RF and warehouse procedures.
Unload products using a forklift or by hand, and accurately put products away in designated warehouse areas.
Receive incoming products using established procedures and verify deliveries against company purchase orders.
Meet or exceed established order-pulling and inventory-accuracy goals.
Label and wrap products as needed for staging.
Prepare and assemble products for custom, non-stock orders.
Operate equipment and machinery related to the position, such as a forklift.
Help keep the warehouse orderly and clean and follow company safety procedures.
Complete relevant RF or operations training assigned by the company.
Operate company vehicles safely and courteously while following road rules.
Check the vehicle’s daily preventive maintenance and report problems to the Warehouse Manager.
Keep truck interiors clean, organized, and safely maintained.
Comply with DOT requirements and company safety and compliance policies.
Plan delivery routes to support efficiency and meet timing deadlines.
Manifest jobs in delivery sequence to ensure customers receive prompt notifications.
Compare paperwork with truck contents to verify order accuracy.
Inspect and secure truck loads.
Load products onto trucks using a forklift or by hand.
Hand-unload and deliver products to specified job sites as part of multi-stop routes.
Photograph completed deliveries using the Innovo phone app.
Note discrepancies and report them to the Warehouse Manager as soon as possible.
Pick up return products as needed and deliver them to the appropriate department for processing.
