About The Position

This is a 1st shift position. Monday - Thursday 5am - 3:30pm with OT as required. The role involves placing and retrieving product from designated areas using forklifts and other material handling equipment to meet production and customer needs. Responsibilities may include receiving incoming materials, loading/unloading trucks, preparing materials for production by identifying, mixing, measuring, weighing, marking, labeling, counting, blending, tracking, calculating shot weight, recording, inspecting, verifying, packaging, and palletizing a wide variety of products or materials. The position also requires operating dryers at the correct temperature to prepare raw materials and ensure proper moisture levels using a moisture analyzer, maintaining cleanliness of material handling equipment to prevent contamination, and periodically checking equipment for proper operation, potentially performing routine maintenance and cleaning. The Material Handler is responsible for the quality of their work, resolving unusual operating conditions, and modifying their schedule and duties to accommodate company needs. Requirements

6 months of fork truck experience.
Manually lift and move product and materials up to 55 lbs. through regular physical exertion, including but not limited to reaching forward, reaching overhead, lifting, carrying, crouching, and bending
Power grip and wrist turn, including the use of hand tools and/or steering fork truck
Walk, sit, or stand for up to 10 hours with intermittent breaks
Push/pull up to 100 lbs.
See, inspect, handle, and evaluate product quality
Read and understand written English language work instructions
Work in non-climate controlled environments, including hot and humid conditions
Climb ladders and stairs of varying heights
Wear task-based Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by LSI Protective Footwear
Hearing Protection
Protective Eyewear
Gloves
Additional PPE as required for specific tasks

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma or equivalent
1-year forklift experience in a warehouse setting
Strong Computer, and math skills

Responsibilities

Place and retrieve product from appropriately designated areas via forklift and other material handling equipment throughout facilities to ensure that production and customer needs are met.
May involve receipt of incoming material/product and may load and unload trucks.
Prepare the materials for production by identifying which material is needed and mixing materials to job specifications.
Measure, weigh, mark, label, count, blend, track, calculate shot weight, record, inspect, verify, package and palletize a wide variety of products or materials.
Operate dryers at the correct temperature to prepare raw materials and ensure the correct moisture levels, utilizing the moisture analyzer.
Maintain cleanliness of material handling equipment to prevent material contamination.
Check forklift and other equipment periodically for proper operation and may perform routine maintenance and cleaning.
Responsible for quality of work and appropriately resolve unusual operating conditions.
Willingly modifies work schedule and duties to accommodate Company needs.
All other duties as assigned.
