About The Position

The Material Handler / Delivery Driver will transport materials, supplies, and finished products to designated locations while using a variety of forklift equipment safely. This role involves analyzing cut sheets and blueprints, safely transporting raw and finished materials using forklifts, and loading/unloading trailers. The position also requires organizing inventory, maintaining a clean work area, and adhering to all company safety policies and procedures. The employee will also be responsible for attending required training and passing a DOT medical exam.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience with operating a forklift safely in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience moving heavy materials around an active job site or manufacturing shop.
  • 5+ years’ experience with operating a forklift safely in a manufacturing environment.
  • Current forklift certification.
  • Knowledge of fabrication shop and building materials (steel, sheathing, etc.).
  • Previous delivery driver experience.
  • Be able to pass DOT medical exam.
  • Have valid drivers license.
  • Be able to operate stake body delivery truck.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze cut sheets and blueprints to determine needed materials for the assigned jig.
  • Safely transport both raw and finished materials to the production line utilizing various forklifts.
  • Safely load product onto and unload product to/from flatbeds and box trailers.
  • Unload material orders and organize product in the yard according to inventory procedures.
  • Clean and maintain work area and follows all safety rules and practices.
  • Move waste from working area of yard to dumpsters.
  • Maintain a positive work environment by behaving and communicating in a professional, courteous, respectful, ethical manner with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Use good judgment and common sense.
  • Assist other departments when needed to maintain production.
  • Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, training, rules and guidelines.
  • Attend and/or complete welder and safety training (through KLOVER Learning Management System) as required by management.
  • Pass DOT medical exam.
  • Operate stake body delivery truck.
  • Assist Sheathing Dept. in applying finish materials of welded panels.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis.
