About The Position
Coastal Welding Supply-AWG Company has an immediate opening for a Material Handler/Cylinder Maintenance at our facility in Beaumont, TX. In this position, they perform product composition and quality sampling and testing. Routine inspection, calibration, and repair of meter and associated equipment (meter tube/plates, ultrasonic meter). This position is physically demanding and involves tasks such as moving, grinding/sanding, painting and filling 50-150 lbs cylinders.
Requirements
- High School graduate or GED equivalent
- Able to read and write English
- Mechanically inclined
- Technical skills
- Computer skills
Responsibilities
- Inspect gas cylinders to detect surface defects and tests thickness of cylinder walls.
- Safely move gas cylinders off pallets onto testing equipment.
- Calibrate and adjust ultrasonic testing equipment to required standards and settings.
- Review and interpret test results and documentation as it relates to local, state, and federal compliance and DOT regulations.
- Record test results, cylinder serial number, and test date in a timely and accurate manner.
- Stamp test date and label gas cylinders once ultrasonic testing is complete.
- Ensure that defective cylinders or those requiring maintenance or repair are removed from service until corrected.
- Inspect, maintain, and perform maintenance on ultrasonic testing equipment, as needed.
- Operate computer equipment and value machine (if applicable) to conduct testing.
- Operate a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment.
