About The Position

WSI is currently seeking a Material Handler/Clerk for a new operation in South Bend, IN. This role involves operating material handling equipment, performing inspections, maintaining inventories, and managing documentation for inbound and outbound shipments. The position requires knowledge of Microsoft Office, national accounts, and export documentation. Shifts are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, with overtime as required. Final candidates must have a solid work history and pass pre-employment screenings.

Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
Must be reliable and safety-minded
Must have a strong work ethic
Excellent attention to detail
Forklift certified or able to obtain certification
Ability to operate material handling equipment
Willing and eager to learn
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel & Word).
Knowledge of national accounts and export documentation.

Responsibilities

Operates material handling equipment as required to receive, store, and ship material.
Performs receiving and shipping inspections and identifies all incoming and outgoing material shipments to determine: a) quantity is as ordered b) no damage is apparent, and c) documentation is available as required.
Performs physical material inventories to establish, maintain, and document the receipt, shipment and control.
Maintains inbound and outbound logs and reports.
Maintains WMS update on all inbound and outbound shipments.
Generates receipt documentation.
Generates pick batches.
Performs load planning based on pre-established criteria.
Contact with carriers for inbound appointments.
Contact with carriers with outbound appointments.
Obtains driver’s signature on B.O.L’s.
Generations of OS & D.
Performs cycle counts and checks inventories.
Check, maintains and responds to E-Mail.
Prepares shipping documentation.
Maintain files, data entry, answer and direct incoming calls.
Customer relations.
