This role performs manual and clerical shipping and/or receiving duties, usually utilizing computer. Receives incoming materials or prepares materials for shipment. Tasks are performed with limited supervision, and may include verifying quantity, weight, and conformance of materials, preparing records of shipping and bills of lading. Requires knowledge of shipping and/or receiving policies, practices, and techniques, as well as knowledge of crating and packaging techniques.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • At least 2 years of warehouse, distribution, shipping or material movement experience is required.
  • Previous experience using various materials handling equipment, such as hoists, pallet jacks, etc. is required.
  • Previous forklift experience is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with hazardous chemical handling is preferred - loading, unloading, sampling, documenting.
  • Experience working in a GMP environment is preferred.
  • Experience using computerized inventory management systems, i.e. SAP is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and ship all material, equipment, supplies, finished goods for Johnson & Johnson MedTech site utilizing SAP and JDE.
  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages including data entry.
  • Routes items to departments.
  • Processes Sub-Assembly parts including data entry and shelving of materials.
  • Issuance of materials to production area and other internal departments.
  • Pre bagging of parts for production requirement use.
  • Performs daily cycle counts as required.
  • Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Operates forklift, tier lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
  • Follows all standard operating procedures.
  • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level.
  • Responsible for ensuring subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition.
  • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties assigned as needed.
