About The Position

International Paper is seeking a Material Handler 2 for their facility located at 5505 SW Western Avenue, Beaverton, OR 97005. This is a full-time hourly position with a pay rate of $22.50/hr, working Monday to Friday from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm. The Material Handler 2 is responsible for managing the flow of materials throughout the plant, including completing daily equipment inspections, accurately recording outbound shipments, following loading/unloading procedures, and assisting with material handling on the plant floor. Key duties involve loading and unloading trailers, performing preventative maintenance on mobile equipment, participating in safety meetings, and reporting any safety or maintenance concerns. The role requires adherence to plant policies and guidelines and may include other assigned duties. Ability to communicate with dispatch when trailers are completely loaded and/or unloaded including trailer number, door number
Ability to communicate with floor lead – maintenance issues, downtime, production issues, unacceptable or non-conforming loads, poor bale quality, errors on supplier tickets versus actual receipts any other issues with material being handled
Ability to operate/monitor the following equipment: Forklift, Scale-enabled Forklift, Skid Steer, Electronic Pallet Jack, Hand Truck

Responsibilities

Handle and maintain the flow of materials throughout the plant
Complete daily pre-start forklift maintenance inspection report (or VCR)
Complete and submit load sheet to accurately record bale count, loading start/stop times for finished goods on outbound shipments
Follow proper trailer loading and unloading lock-out/tag out procedure
Assist with sorting, deboxing and moving pallets/materials on the plant floor
Assist with removing finished bales and storing them in the proper location
Load and unload trailers
Complete PMs for all certified mobile equipment regularly
Attend and participate in plant safety meetings
Manage controllable costs through proper equipment, tool and consumable usage
Report any safety or maintenance concerns
Adhere to plant policies and guidelines
