About The Position

The Material Handler 2 is focused on accurately packaging frames, preparing orders for shipment, and safely moving materials throughout the facility. Supports production by staging and delivering materials, maintaining an organized work area, and following all quality, safety, and production requirements. The Material Handler 2 reports to the Custom Door Fabrication Supervisor. This role is perfect for an individual who is safety-minded, detail-focused, a team player, and enjoys working in a manufacturing environment. A vital member of the Door Fabrication Department, this is an opportunity to build a career with an industry leader.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize work with deadlines; ability to work overtime when required.
  • Prior work experience performed inside a production/manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or move up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Requires constant reaching, handling and grasping while turning of upper body while moving and lifting.
  • Ability to stand and move around on your feet for 8-10 hours per day on a concrete floor.
  • Able to withstand noise levels in the work environment that can be moderate to high.
  • The ability to safely perform tasks, adhere to all safety policies and procedures, and correct or report hazards in the workplace.
  • Stable work history with at least one (1) year of previous work experience in manufacturing or a production facility.
  • Ability to read written instructions and take verbal directions.
  • Ability to use a hand pallet and or motorized pallet jack.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Material handling - moving packed metal product
  • Pack aluminum extrusions using a box knife, cardboard and tape
  • Prepare boxes for shipment to customers. Verify all orders before they are shipped (shipping address, parts, and correct quantity)
  • Ensures quality in the process including correct documentation and verification of orders
  • Follow directions and communicate well with peers and management
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
  • Work with others in a team environment
  • Ability to wear all safety wear including hard hats, steel toe boots with metatarsals, safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, Kevlar sleeves and long pants.
