About The Position
Under direct supervision, the Material Handler 1 operates forklifts or other mobile equipment to perform routine moving, staging, loading, or unloading of materials, supplies, or products within or near the plant, yard, warehouse, or worksite. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient flow of materials within the production and shipping processes.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, or attain ACT WorkKeys Assessment at certified job profile skill level
- Basic computer skills
- Time Management – prioritizing work to meet internal and/or external customer demands
- Detail Oriented – ensures accuracy of product and documentation to meet internal and/or external customer demands
- Good communication skills
- Mobile equipment operations skills
- Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as outlined in the role specific Job Safety Analysis
- Forklift, Combi-lift, Side-loader, or other mobile equipment
- Computers
- Scanners, tablets, printers
- Oracle ERP
- Hand tools including, but not limited to, nail gun, banding equipment, hammer, saw, etc.
Nice To Haves
- 3+ months of experience operating mobile equipment in a manufacturing or shipping environment
- Mobile equipment certification
Responsibilities
- Transports raw materials, supplies, products, and/or finished goods to and from storage or production lines and places them in a designated area (80%)
- Actively participates in continuous improvement and corrective action activities (10%)
- Completes all necessary paperwork and transactions, including scanning requirements (5%)
- Perform housekeeping, 5-S, and other duties as assigned (5%)
