About The Position

The Boeing Company's Defense Satellite Systems' team is looking for an Experienced Material Financial Analyst (Level 3) to join our team in Seal Beach or El Segundo, California. This Financial Analyst will be responsible for supporting Non-Labor, Material cost accounts for Platform and other Integrate Product Teams( IPT's) that have material statement of work. Candidate will partner with their assigned IPT's helping with them reconcile their cost accounts on a monthly, quarterly basis; along with any new contract mod baselines. The candidate must have the ability to communicate and present to executive leadership and help lead discussions on providing financial and potential risk, opportunities or issues recommendations. The ideal candidate will have experience with COBRA or Earned Value Management (EVM) software and be able to function as a tool administrator, work with complex Microsoft Excel files and able to work independently without on site management support.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or related field
3+ years of experience in a Finance related position such as Financial Operations, Cost Management, Accounting, Estimating, Financial Planning, Contracts, or Procurement Financial Analysis (PFA)
3+ years of work experience with the Microsoft Excel application using: formulas, VLookups, pivot tables, charts, filters, and linking worksheets
Must have the ability to communicate and present to executive leadership
Ability to work independently without on site management support
Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Pre-Start is required.

3+ years of experience with financial planning processes and tools

Responsibilities

Develops resource forecasts and/or Estimates at Completion (EACs) for control accounts, budgets, functions or pools; financial EACs for contracts or programs
Initiates analysis of: resource forecasts and/or control account EACs; financial EACs
Compiles data from multiple sources and develops performance reports
Initiates variance analyses and provides understanding of operational and financial performance to management
Makes recommendations to management on financial performance projections using financial and business knowledge and experience
Develops, reviews, analyzes and maintains cost and/or schedule performance measurement baselines, including earned value, and variance analyses and communicates cost and/or schedule trends
