About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Material Expediter (Warehouse Specialist) in Springfield, VA. This is a pipelined role for a future opening. The ideal candidate is well-organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling a range of warehousing tasks. Responsibilities include verifying material against receiving documents, storing and stacking materials, examining stored materials for damage, and preparing materials for shipment. Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential.

Requirements

High school diploma/GED
At least 1 year of related warehouse / inventory experience
Must be able and willing to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting materials weighing up to 40 lbs., as well as work in a warehouse environment in adverse temperatures
Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a Secret Clearance.

Current 49CFR/IATA Dangerous Goods / Non-Radioactive / lithium batteries certification
CDL License for 26ft Box Truck
Forklift operator experience
Additional experience/education
Working knowledge of inventory control principles and warehouse processes
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
Ability to work independently

Responsibilities

Assembles and repairs wood shipping crates, using a variety of electric and pneumatic powered hand tools, such as saws, drills, nail guns, staplers, etc.
Wraps and packs crates to prepare for shipping/storage
Operates a variety of material handling equipment to include forklifts and mechanized warehouse equipment that involves managing high pile storage.
Ensures accuracy of input data to the inventory system.
Unloads, unpacks, inspects, counts, and stores incoming supplies and equipment.
Reviews and verifies quantities received against bills of lading, purchase order and shipping documents.
