The Cincinnati Insurance Company is looking for a candidate to fulfill the role of a Material Damage Auto Appraiser in the State of Massachusetts. This is a full-time position responsible for all aspects of the damage appraisal process, auto reinspections, and auto total loss valuations in the state of Massachusetts and surrounding areas as needed. The pay range for this position is $75,000-$95,000 annually. The pay determination is based on the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and individual performance.

Requirements

  • MA Appraisers license and certification
  • valid driver’s license
  • minimum of 3 years of auto repair estimating
  • proficient in the use of auto repair estimating software
  • expertise in auto nomenclature, design, technology, construction, damage analysis and repair techniques for body panels and unibody/frames
  • negotiating skills
  • analytical skills
  • detail oriented
  • effective verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to provide prompt, personal, claim service
  • ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while meeting and maintaining predetermined service levels
  • ability and willingness to adapt to change and new responsibilities as they become needed

Nice To Haves

  • minimum of 2 years of claims department experience
  • I-CAR, ASE, and technical school training
  • use of Microsoft Office products including PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Expertise in damage analysis and appraisal for trucks, motor homes, travel trailers, motorcycles, snowmobiles, and specialty equipment

Responsibilities

  • conduct in-person inspections of vehicle damage as part of the claim adjustment process
  • complete auto damage appraisals and reinspection’s according to State regulations
  • perform total loss analysis and obtain market valuations
  • support the Claims Department by serving as a technical resource to associates as it pertains to vehicle repair, alternative parts utilization, and total loss conditioning
  • on occasion, complete quality assurance audits on staff-adjuster auto repair appraisals
