About The Position

The Material Controller must be knowledgeable of maintenance and construction materials. Will need knowledge of computer equipment, where applicable. Must learn and understand all safety hazards related to the work and learn to safely and effectively use or operate work related tools. Will be required to work in a plant operations or construction jobsite setting.

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for extended periods during office work and meetings.
  • Ability to move periodically across office settings, client venues, and active project or site locations.
  • Ability to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
  • Ability to frequently communicate and exchange accurate information in person, electronically, and during virtual or telephone meetings.
  • Ability to lift or move materials weighing up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to direct, collaborate with, and communicate with executives, clients, and project teams.
  • Ability to interpret and apply company policies, safety protocols, and written instructions.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations, analyze business data, and review project estimates.
  • Ability to maintain accuracy, productivity, and attention to detail while managing competing priorities in an active office environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to process, retain, and manage complex project details, contractual requirements, and client data.

Responsibilities

  • Order materials when required
  • Schedule equipment through proper protocol
  • Set up, charge, all work orders and account numbers
  • Receive, inspect, help unload and distribute materials/equipment received
  • Set up and maintain inventory system and reordering
  • Assist contract supervision upon request
  • Assist in the field when needed
  • Maintain file system and cross-reference book
  • Attain proper accounting documents for all work order numbers monthly
  • Assist operator with orders when requested
  • Locate specialty equipment such as transition pieces, check valves, etc.
  • Load and unload equipment and materials
