About The Position

The Material Control Specialist supports the buying team by managing day-to-day supplier and order tracking activities. This role is responsible for running open order reports, updating supplier commit dates, tracking future deliveries, and maintaining accurate delivery information in reports. The Material Control Specialist works with suppliers to obtain purchase order acknowledgements, monitors move-in messages, and escalates shortages, delays, or other supply issues to the buyer as needed. This position helps ensure timely communication, accurate order status, and smooth material flow through close coordination with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Requirements

  • Effectively oversees and maintains accurate inventory levels to ensure the availability of materials when needed.
  • Demonstrates meticulous attention to detail in tracking and documenting material movements and transactions.
  • Organizes and manages multiple tasks and responsibilities efficiently to maintain smooth operations.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively with team members, suppliers, and other stakeholders to facilitate coordination.
  • Analyzes data and inventory reports to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Utilizes inventory management software and other relevant technologies proficiently to manage material control processes.
  • Identifies and resolves issues related to material shortages, excesses, or discrepancies promptly and effectively.
  • Prioritizes tasks and manages time efficiently to meet deadlines and maintain workflow continuity.
  • Ensures all material control activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborates effectively with team members and other departments to achieve common goals and enhance overall performance.
  • Must be a U.S. Person within the meaning of the ITAR and EAR, or eligible to obtain all required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State and/or the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the tracking and maintenance of inventory levels to ensure the availability of necessary materials.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure on time delivery of materials per our schedule.
  • Generate and analyze production reports to track performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and provide actionable insights for informed decision making.
  • Identify and resolve production constraints and delays. Monitor production progress and ensure schedules are followed.
  • Serve as a liaison between various departments, including manufacturing, engineering, procurement, and logistics to facilitate smooth workflow and resolve any production related issues.
  • Run open order reports, update supplier commit dates, track future deliveries, and maintain accurate delivery information in reports.
  • Work with suppliers to obtain purchase order acknowledgements.
  • Monitor move-in messages.
  • Escalate shortages, delays, or other supply issues to the buyer as needed.
