About The Position

The Material Control Specialist I is responsible for supporting efficient material flow throughout Glock's warehouse and distribution operations. This role executes material control activities including putaway, replenishment, consolidation, warehouse slotting and organization, and material movement coordination. The Material Control Specialist I ensures materials are properly stored, identified, and positioned to support production, inventory control, and order fulfillment requirements while maintaining location, integrity, and adherence to company standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics, warehousing, or inventory control.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO) and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
  • Experience using ERP, WMS (Microsoft Dynamics AX and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365), and inventory management systems; proficiency in data entry.
  • Experience operating powered industrial equipment mandatory.
  • Powered industrial truck endorsement (Internally certified)
  • Must successfully pass and maintain a Security Threat Assessment (STA) under TSA regulations
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, stoop and bend.
  • Required to use fingers and hands to package parts.
  • Regularly required to lift and move boxes with an average weight of 40 lbs., but a maximum weight of 70 lbs.
  • Personal safety protective equipment required.
  • Regularly required to push a cart with an average weight of 260 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Execute replenishment activities to support production, warehouse, and order fulfillment operations.
  • Monitor inventory levels and replenish pick locations from reserve storage locations to support production and order fulfillment requirements.
  • Coordinate material movements between storage, production, staging, and fulfillment areas.
  • Support uninterrupted material flow by responding to operational replenishment requirements.
  • Maintain organized storage locations and warehouse layouts.
  • Ensure inventory is stored in designated locations and properly identified.
  • Perform inventory consolidation activities to improve storage utilization and warehouse efficiency.
  • Support warehouse organization efforts consistent with 5S and Lean principles.
  • Support warehouse space optimization through proper storage practices, consolidation activities, and inventory organization.
  • Assist with slotting and re-slotting activities as directed.
  • Maintain physical and system location integrity.
  • Execute ERP and warehouse management system transactions associated with material movements.
  • Verify physical movements are accurately reflected within system records.
  • Maintain license plate, location, and inventory identification accuracy.
  • Identify and report discrepancies related to material movements or storage locations.
  • Adhere to OSHA, ISO, EPA, and company safety requirements.
  • Operate material handling equipment in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Participate in warehouse optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve material flow, storage utilization, and operational efficiency.
  • Support implementation of standardized warehouse processes.
