Collins Aerospace in Rockford, IL site aids in assembling the Ram Air Turbines (RAT) used for aircraft emergency power generation. Our Ram Air Turbines have been used to save aircrafts and over 2,600 lives. This role involves verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments, preparing items for shipping or delivery, counting, sorting, compiling records and inventory quantities, types of materials received, stored and issued in plants. The Material Clerk will also prepare material for storage, store materials in bins, floors or shelves with identifying information, add preservatives when and where necessary, and may cut or prepare materials to fill inspection sample orders. Responsibilities include unpacking and examining incoming shipments, notifying supervisors of damaged items, recording storage, and corresponding with shippers. The role also involves delivering items to the appropriate department, plant site or other locations, and loading/unloading trucks and pallets as needed, using hand and power equipment. Safely operating all assigned equipment, including forklifts, is crucial. The position requires knowledge of proper parts handling, cleanliness requirements, and the ability to utilize TGM’s system and inventory control procedures for tooling and gages. Maintaining a neat and orderly work area is also expected. The work schedule is 1st shift, Monday-Friday from 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM.
