About The Position

The Mastering QC Operator will perform quality assurance testing on video, audio, and closed captioning. This role involves performing incoming QC of client-supplied materials (audio, video, subtitles) for file production and conducting file QCs using various playback programs like Transkoder and GrayMeta Iris. The operator will also perform visual quality assurance testing of compressed video material and audible quality assurance testing of encoded audio material. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

3-5 years quality control experience in the entertainment industry.
Master source quality control experience is required.
Fundamental understanding of audio, video, film.
Ability to troubleshoot quality control issues, software and player anomalies.
Organized, diligent and detail-oriented.
Solid verbal and written communication skills.
Accurate and methodical approach to testing with a focused and detailed attention to audio, video and film impairments and artifacts.
Capable of working in a fast-paced environment with hard deadlines.
Willing to work nights and weekends, including holidays.

Nice To Haves

Individual will need to make frequent "subjective" decisions as part of their daily function (e.g. determining the "severity rating" for quality defects, determining which defects are acceptable, etc.).
