About The Position

The Master Technician works in a Controlled Work Area (CWA) and is responsible for performing and mentoring/training other employees in Central Services (CS) by decontaminating, cleaning, and sterilizing reusable equipment and supplies utilized in Production, and in Tissue Processing by safely and aseptically processing human tissue and cell products according to applicable SOPs, WIs, and product specifications. Depending on the product/process, the Master Technician may utilize various tools, equipment, machinery, and chemicals.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent
Certified Tissue Banking Specialist (CTBS) certification, Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT), or another certification approved by management
Minimum 2 years of work experience as a St Technician at AlloSource
Must not be on a PIP and/or final warning
Familiar with Microsoft office Applications
Ability to communicate in English proficiently (speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension)

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences and related field
Experience performing aseptic techniques in a medical or laboratory environment
Previous FDA and/or Tissue Banking experience.

Responsibilities

Adhere to aseptic technique and processing practices per applicable standards.
Interpret applicable product specifications and perform tasks according to established procedures and company expectations.
Complete accurate processing records in accordance with Good Documentation Practices.
Primary resource for training employees in the area of expertise.
Communicate feedback to the management team on the progress of trainees.
Act as cultural champion to promote a safe, positive, and productive work environment.
Provides input and guidance when questions arise whether tissues will be output as product or discarded.
Reviews “SCRAP” tissue to ensure consistency throughout the organization.
On a rotating schedule, this position will work on company-observed holidays.
Overtime and call-in work will be determined as needed.
Aid supervisors with daily needs.
Lead warmup routines at the designated times for the respective shift.
Participate and be involved in the review board as requested by the management.
Must maintain a regular work schedule of at least 36 hours per week, with additional overtime or call-in responsibilities as determined by business needs.
Adhere to and promote proper practices and techniques which are consistent with current operating procedures, training requirements, safety practices, and company policies.
May perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
