About The Position

Due to business growth Eaton’s EPG CPD Circuit Protection Division is adding a Master Technician - R&D to its Advanced Technology team within the Electrical Sector’s “Protection, Control and Solutions” group. This role will take place out of our office in Moon Twp, PA (Pittsburgh area). The Master Technician will assist the Advanced Technology engineering team in the fabrication, build, and test of prototype samples for the purpose of lab-based evaluation testing and customer pilot programs. This position will be responsible for ensuring high quality prototype builds are carried out at the direction of project engineers. This role will also be responsible for documenting, troubleshooting, and communicating prototype assembly issues to the project teams.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electro-Mechanical technology from an accredited institution.
  • Three years of experience working in a product development environment with mechanical or electo-mechanical products.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Understand mechanical drawings and mechanical assembly documentation while working with Engineering Team to properly build prototypes
  • Use various hand/power tools to build engineering samples and test fixtures to specification.
  • Fabricate parts using approved machinery and methods.
  • Prepare lab validation tests at the direction of project engineering team.
  • Collect, record, and plot test data in an organized fashion.
  • Establish a working knowledge of standard test procedures. Fully understands the capabilities, use, and care of available lab equipment.
  • Conduct onsite product validation tests using approved test devices and procedures.
  • Lead, direct, coordinate, and bring successful closure to distinct assignments. Use invention, imagination, creativity, and resourcefulness during the course of assigned work.
  • Plan and coordinate purchasing through installation of new equipment infrastructure for development test labs based on test requirements or gaps in testing capabilities.
  • Maintain equipment by coordinating or driving repairs or calibration.
