About The Position

Eaton's Protection, Control and Solutions division is seeking a Master Technician - Electronics to join their team in Moon Township, PA. This role is part of the Advanced Technology team within the Electrical Sector’s PCS group and will support engineering efforts by building and testing electronic and electromechanical prototypes and production samples. The position is responsible for ensuring high-quality prototype builds, documenting test plans, recording data, and providing detailed written test reports. Additional responsibilities include parts acquisition and capital project execution to support research and prototyping activities.

Requirements

Associate’s degree in Electrical or Electro-mechanical Technology or related discipline from an accredited institution.
Minimum 2 years of experience working in a product development environment with electrical or electro-mechanical products.
Must currently reside within a 50-mile radius of Moon Township, PA (Active-Duty Military are exempt).

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electro-mechanical technology or related discipline from an accredited institution.
3+ years of experience with electrical product development, including testing, and data collection
EMC, Mount Assembly, and rework skills
Familiarity operating high current, high voltage sources
Working knowledge of oscilloscopes and electrical power supplies and loads
Basic knowledge of current transformers and magnetic devices

Responsibilities

Assist the Advanced Technology engineering team in building and performing electronic and electromechanical testing on engineering prototypes and production samples.
Ensure high-quality prototype builds are carried out in the direction of project engineers.
Document test plans, record data, and provide detailed written test reports.
Perform other functions as necessary to support all research and prototyping activities including parts acquisition and capital project execution.
Understand electrical circuits and mechanical drawings while working with design engineers.
Build engineering prototypes and set-up lab tests per engineer’s instructions.
Collect, record, and plot test data in an organized fashion.
Perform preliminary analysis of test data in lab.
Program and set parameters in microcontrollers for use in testing.
Modify or assemble electrical assemblies including wiring, wire harnesses, PCBA’s as well as overall component assembly.
Use oscilloscopes, power supplies and other standard lab equipment.
Establish a working knowledge of standard test procedures and understand the capabilities, use, and care of available test equipment.
Develop automated test programs and systems, when appropriate, to streamline and standardize re-occurring tests, furnishing documentation for maintenance and use by others.
Lead, direct, coordinate, and bring successful closure to specific assignments, using invention, imagination, creativity, and resourcefulness.
Plan and coordinate purchasing to support installation of new equipment infrastructure for development test labs based on test requirements or gaps in testing capabilities.
Maintain equipment by coordinating or conducting repairs or calibration.
